Xpreza 100mg Powder for Injection effectively treats some types of blood problems, such as chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. Considered an antineoplastic, Xpreza 100mg Powder for Injection prevents the growth and destroys abnormal cells that are found in the bone marrow.The drug should not be used if you are extremely hypersensitive to a component present in it or are suffering from an advanced stage of liver cancer. Patients with kidney issues as well as other health conditions should discuss the implications of the drug, before using it. 

Use :

• Xpreza 100mg is used to treat a group of blood/bone marrow disorders (myelodysplastic syndromes-MDS) in which the bone marrow does not produce enough healthy blood cells. People with MDS usually have problems such as infections, anemia, and easy bleeding/bruising.
• Azacitidine is a chemotherapy medicine.It is believed to work by helping your bone marrow grow normal lifeblood cells so you will need fewer blood blood transfusion. Azacitidine also kills abnormal lifeblood cells that have grown too fast and do not work properly.

How to use XPREZA 100 MG INJECTION Capsules ?

Xpreza is usually given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. If you will be using Xpreza at home, a health care provider will teach you how to use it. Be sure you understand how to use Xpreza injection. Follow the procedures you are taught when you use a dose. Contact your health care supplier if you have any questions.

How Does XPREZA 100 MG INJECTION Work ?

Xpreza 100 mg Injection is an anticancer medication. It works by interfering with the promotion of genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells in leukaemia.This kills the cancer cells and helps in normal maturation and growth of young blood cells in the bone marrow.

Side Effects

• Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness)
• Vomiting
• Weakness
• Nausea
• Decreased potassium level in blood
• Bruising
• Fever
• Chills
• Diarrhea

Dosage :

Missed Dose:

It is advised not to miss any dose. If you miss any dose, you should contact your doctor directly.

Overdose:

Seek emergency medical nursing or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Warning :

• You will be treated with medicine to prevent nausea and vomiting at the start of azacitidine nursing  cycle.
• You will be monitored with lab test to measure complete blood count before every treatment cycle to check development of anemia (low red blood count), neutropenia (abnormally low white blood cell count) or thrombocytopenia (abnormally low count of blood platelet in the blood).Take extreme care to avoid pregnancy while on azacitidine therapy.
• Inform your doctor if you have a history of congestive heart failure, unstable heart or lung disease.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience difficulty in breathing, swelling of the lips, itching or rash.
• Patients allergic to azacitidine or any of its ingredient should not be administered this.

Storage :

Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of kids and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of these matter after use. Follow all local rules for disposal.
